On the 26th and 27th of June 2009 the second meeting of the International Expert Framework on International Criminal Procedure was held at the Law Faculty of the University of Amsterdam (Oudemanhuispoort 4-6).

This expert meeting was a follow-up to the first IEF meeting which was held in January 2009. The purpose of this second meeting was to discuss and assess the progress in the IEF project, and to decide how to proceed further. After an introduction from Professor Göran Sluiter, the meeting began with the working groups presenting their tentative findings. Thoughts, visions and tentative findings were shared about subjects as privacy/secrecy, judicial powers and the objectives of criminal procedures. Further, issues such as the methodology and how the results of this project will work in practice were discussed. The second IEF meeting was concluded by expressing gratitude to all participants for their input and to HiiL for taking on the organizational matters relating to this meeting.
